Walk On [live]

This song started life out a long time ago, but I never had what I thought were adequate lyrics. My now ex-wife and I were living in Encinitas at the time, and we loved to drive on Coast Highway. I started imagining a road trip all up and down the coast in a beautiful red convertible, and the lyrics came out with that image at heart.
Walk on with me, feel the warm rain in the air
Walk on with me, let my fingers run through your hair
It’s only you and me, Baby
The starlight, the moon, and my lady
And we’re walking home

Can we take a trip across the country?
I could sing you songs while you stare at the highway
If it were my way
I’d give you this gift of mine, so go on

Walk on with me, feel the warm rain in the air
Walk on with me, let my fingers run through your hair
It’s only you and me, Baby
The starlight, the moon, and my lady
And we’re walking home

And if I could take a photograph
Of all the moments that you gave me
I’d pin them on my wall so that I could see them all
But you know that I’d run out of room, so go on

Walk on with me, feel the warm rain in the air
Walk on with me, let my fingers run through your hair
It’s only you and me, Baby
The starlight, the moon, and my lady
And we’re walking home

And when I look you in the eyes
It’s more than ever I fantasized
And when you’re standing at my side
I know my love has been justified
And if you’re the last thing that I see
Well, then I know I’ve seen everything there is to see

Walk on with me, feel the warm rain in the air
Walk on with me, let my fingers run through your hair
It’s only you and me, Baby
The starlight, the moon, and my lady
And we’re walking home
